A Shift In Power For Peace

I have spoken and written in the past of the rising power of women. For most of human existence, women have relinquished their power for the good of the children and the continuation of the species. Our life span was much shorter than it is now that we needed to safeguard the future or our species would suffer further decline. Population decline may occur from natural disaster, but we have a way of getting out of harm’s way better than a hunted jack rabbit. The one thing that could cause our species to decline would be the threat from the members of the species who had no contribution to it but the introduction of a tiny organism to start that life. Women had to be on hand to ensure the continuation of the life she carried for so long. I spent a long time trying to understand some of the quirks in life, such as why we reproduce the way we do, within the mystery of the female body. It finally makes sense to me. We are not energetic beings bumbling around the universe. We have a purpose. We have a reason to exist and it is the greatest scientific experiment ever put forth.

To ensure the life of her child and the continued future of the human race, the female chose to carry the human within her womb. Her body built strength through the muscles to hold the growing child within her and those same muscles attached to nerves caused sensations that we call pain so she would know when the child was ready to be born. How amazing! This magical experience made woman the supreme creature. She carried the mysteries of life and the males of the species had no role but to sit back and watch. There are parts in Africa where women collect men like marbles, but she still carries the child, provides food and shelter and kept the household. Over time she carried the greater burden while their men who hung around waited for the next time they got the opportunity to contribute their seed.

Now women are starting to take back the power they relinquished so long ago. It is a forced transference of power. It is frightening, because we have no yardstick with which to judge the consequences of this action, but love must begin to rein again on the planet. There are men who would love to pass the baton back to the women in their lives, but it is still a challenging time of change. Women have become tired of their daughters and themselves becoming the targets for misogynists. It makes sense that misogyny have come to exist. We tend to hate the things we think we cannot control. If we cannot figure out a thing, we will destroy it. That is what we are doing to the planet right now. We have dammed waterways and dredging the oceans because they can. Hunters kill beasts that they know to be superior to themselves. The cowardice goes so far as to use guns instead of hand to hand combat with these creatures. If they chose to go after the bear, or the loin with a spear, the population of certain wild animals would be assured. This is the same with the female of the human species. As long as the females of the species allow the males to dictate the way their lives should go, we will continue with overpopulation, war and pain. When she takes back the role she is meant to play, that of supreme being, the human race will fall back into good stead and we get to enjoy a little peace.
